Sylvia Mills, Ph.D. is a psychologist, speaker, writer and seminar leader.
She has over twenty years of experience in England, Hong Kong and California.
She is an active Member of the National Speakers Association. She has published
audio cassettes on stress reduction and relaxation therapy and is trained as
a mediator. Her main office is 870 Market Street, #1220, Downtown San Francisco;
she has one day a week in Corte Madera, Marin County.
Dr Mills has a special interest in the interface of emotional and physical health.
She is an expert on trauma reduction therapy; stress management; anxiety and
depression; and relationships both personal and in the workplace. She frequently
consults with businesses in need of conflict resolution for their employees.
She also goes into businesses where employees need Critical Incident Stress Debriefing [CISD].
Sylvia's goals are to help people develop fresh perspectives; new strategies
for problem solving; healthy interpersonal relationships; positive communications
and improved management skills. Dr. Mills, has helped hundreds of people and
dozens of organizations overcome limitations and incorporate new insights and
create growth towards achieving a better way of relating to themselves and others.
Sylvia has a solution oriented approach. She helps define the problems and
the goals you want to attain then designs an approach which will effectively
meet your needs. She customizes her presentations to corporations to better meet client goals.
In England, Sylvia is a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow
of the British Psychological Society. She worked with difficult
teenagers in the British school system before moving to Hong Kong
in 1976, to fulfil a life long desire to see the world. She traveled
extensively during her years in the Far East. She came to the States
in 1981 and obtained her license as a clinical psychologist in California
and has lived in the San Francisco area since.
