Are You Stressed?

Do you have any of the following signs of stress on a regular basis?
Score each item from 1 [almost always] to 5 [never] according to how much of the time this statement applies to you:

How You see Yourself

  • You have trouble sleeping at night because you are worried about your future career.

  • You feel like you don't have enough time to relax.

  • You skip meals or breaks or vacation time because you feel so much pressure.

  • You feel anxious about not having time to get everything done.

  • You feel competitive with your co-workers.

  • You think what you'll say next while someone else is speaking.

  • You have been using more substances like coffee, caffeine, nicotine and alcohol

  • You have been using substances which are illegal to improve your mood or help you cope

How a Friend sees You

  • It seems that you're preoccupied when people speak to you.

  • During conversations you usually do most of the talking.

  • You're often irritable or impatient over delays which are unavoidable.

  • You frequently show a lot of frustration or intolerance.

  • You seem to get angry easily even over small problems.

  • You often look very tired with dark circles under your eyes.

Take note of those items you score the highest. There are a host of solution oriented techniques to help you relax. You can consult books on stress reduction and time management, go to workshops, consult a therapist, have a massage, join a yoga class, laugh at funnies movies, have fun with your favorite person.... something YOU find relaxing will help you to manage your stress better...
